About Us

The Green Thumbers was founded in 1948 by Neil Rohlf. The business was initially a Garden Center called Neil Rohlf Nursery. In the mid 1950’s, a florist and greenhouse located next door was acquired by Neil. The business was sold to a long time employee in the late 1960’s by the name of Frank Paaske. The name of the business was changed soon after to The Green Thumbers. In 1998, the business was again sold to a longtime employee, Andy Kay. Andy and Sue Kay currently operate The Green Thumbers which has expanded over the years to include a Garden Center, Florist, Landscape company, Aroma Coffee & Cafe, and Twisted Trunk Olive Oil Company. We continue to be a local, family owned business that exists to help you beautify your home with great products and honest, expert advice from experienced horticulturists!
